ALBUQUERQUE FILM OFFICE

Film and TV in Albuquerque has become an important part of the creative economy providing high-paying creative and technical jobs and indirectly benefiting other industries and businesses in Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Film Office supports this rapidly expanding industry serving as a liaison between City agencies, the local community and Film/TV productions. The Albuquerque Film Office provides resources and support to productions, oversees permitting for City property, and ensures its Film and TV guidelines are upheld, maintaining the safety and well-being of Albuquerque and its residents.

NEW MEXICO FILM OFFICE

The New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) is encouraging furloughed
workers in the film and television industry to apply directly to non-profit relief funds for assistance, Film Office Director Amber Dodson said today.


A portion of the money going into the funds is from Netflix, which is contributing $100 million worldwide to assist industry workers during the COVID-19 health emergency. Netflix is not only paying its own laid off cast and crew members but has pledged $15 million to non-profit foundations with applications open to all film and television workers nationwide. ​​

NM STATE DEPT OF WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS (NMDWS)

The New Mexico State Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) announced support for workers who have lost their jobs, or suffered a reduction in salary, due to the COVID-19 virus. This support covers eligible entertainment industry workers in New Mexico.

NMDWS has put out the following resources to help entertainment industry workers in New Mexico:

NM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

NMEDD is adjusting its business-loan guarantee programs in order to make capital more available to business owners whose operations are severely impacted by the COVID-19 health emergency. BENEFITS.GOV

The Federal-State Unemployment Insurance Program provides unemployment benefits to eligible workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own (as determined under New Mexico law, and meet other eligibility requirements of New Mexico law.

Unemployment insurance (UI) payments (benefits) are intended to provide temporary financial assistance to unemployed workers who meet the requirements of New Mexico law.  New Mexico administers a separate unemployment insurance program within guidelines established by Federal law.

CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The City of Albuquerque Economic Development Department is providing a $500,000 Micro-Business Relief Program to provide vital economic support to small businesses needing assistance in overcoming the temporary loss of revenue due to COVID-19. The City of Albuquerque will provide working capital grants of up to $5,000 for qualifying small businesses impacted by COVID-19.
